Town Books has adopted a Site-Specific Protection Plan (SSP) detailing our compliance with required procedures to protect our volunteers and customers during this time of continued exposure to COVID-19. The complete, detailed SSP is physically posted in a visible location at the store. Here is a basic summary of the precautions we are taking:
1. INDIVIDUAL CONTROL MEASURES AND SCREENING Before each volunteer comes to work they will self-screen for any warning signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If they have any symptom or if anyone they live with has been diagnosed with COVID-19, they will not come to work. Volunteer Workers will wear a properly fitted mask at all times. A plexiglass shield has been installed at the counter to protect both volunteers and customers. 2. CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PROTOCOLS Volunteers will clean commonly used surfaces at the beginning of each shift (every 3 hours). 3. PHYSICAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES Customers are requested to wear a mask while in the store and will be asked to utilize a touchless hand sanitizer located at the entrance.
